Why this comparison matters
Comparison-er importance
Most Bangladesh contractors track tenders manually: an Excel sheet with active tenders, WhatsApp groups for deadline reminders, paper file folders with downloaded ZIPs, manual BOQ filling. This works — until it doesn’t.
This post is an honest comparison. We built TenderPulse, so obviously we think it’s better for most cases. But there are situations where the spreadsheet wins — and we’ll be explicit about those.
Feature-by-feature comparison

| Eligibility check | Memory + spreadsheet | Auto-match against company profile |

When manual still wins
Manual kokhon better
Honest take: TenderPulse isn’t the right tool for everyone. Manual tracking is fine when:
- Very low volume— only 1-2 tenders per year. The setup time and learning curve don’t pay off.
- Atypical procurement — paper-only donor project, foreign procurement (World Bank ICB direct), or negotiated contracts where most fields are bespoke. Our system is designed for Bangladesh e-GP standardised tenders.
- Single-person operation— if it’s just you handling everything, the multi-user collaboration and audit log features add overhead without value.
For everyone else — contractors handling 3+ tenders per month, teams of 3+, firms tracking deadlines across multiple procuring entities — the time savings compound quickly.
Cost — TenderPulse vs spreadsheet
Cost
Spreadsheet has zero monetary cost — but the time + error cost is real. A typical Bangladesh contractor losing 2 winnable bids per year due to BOQ arithmetic / eligibility mismatch / missed deadline. Each lost bid = average BDT 50,000 in preparation cost wasted, plus opportunity cost of the contract.
TenderPulse pricing: trial free (7 days), Growth tier BDT 5,000/month, Scale tier BDT 15,000/month. Annual: 17% discount. For a contractor handling 3+ tenders/month, TenderPulse pays for itself in the first month.
