PPR 2008 Rule 88Similar Work Experience (Works Contracts)

Rule 88 specifies the similar work experience requirements for works (construction) procurements. A bidder must demonstrate completion of similar works within the look-back period stated in the tender (commonly 5 to 10 years). The number and value thresholds must be reasonable — typically the procuring entity requires at least one similar work of value equal to or exceeding 40-60% of the estimated tender value, or alternatively a total value of similar works in the period exceeding the estimated tender value. "Similar works" means works of similar nature, scope, and complexity (e.g. a road construction tender requires similar road or paving experience, not building works). Joint venture partners may pool similar work credentials per Rule 98 if the JV agreement is registered.
